Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about Bardahl products, oils and ordering.
What is Bardahl?
Bardahl is an American manufacturer of additives, lubricants and care products, founded by Ole Bardahl in Seattle in 1939. Its products are sold in more than 90 countries and are trusted by drivers and professional workshops worldwide.
What is Polar Plus technology?
Polar Plus is Bardahl's signature molecule. It chemically bonds to metal surfaces and stays there even when the engine is off, providing a protective film that dramatically reduces friction and wear — especially at cold start, when most engine wear happens.
Which engine oil does my car need?
The right oil depends on your engine's specification (e.g. 5W-30, ACEA C3, manufacturer approval). Tell us your make, model and year through our oil finder or on WhatsApp and we'll recommend the exact Bardahl product.
How often should I change my engine oil?
Follow your manufacturer's interval — typically every 10,000–15,000 km or once a year for modern engines, and more often for older engines or heavy use. A Bardahl oil treatment between changes keeps protection at its best.
Are fuel and oil additives safe for my engine?
Yes. Bardahl additives are developed and tested to be fully compatible with modern engines, including those with particulate filters (DPF/GPF) and catalytic converters, when used as directed.
What's the difference between synthetic and semi-synthetic oil?
Fully synthetic oils offer the best protection, flow and longevity, ideal for modern and high-performance engines. Semi-synthetic oils are a cost-effective choice for older or higher-mileage engines. We can advise the best fit for your vehicle.
